Rickie Lafon
Owner
Rickie received his Associates of Arts Degree along with a Directors Certification from Collin County Community College. He began his child care career in 1992 with the Boys and Girls Clubs as the director of the after school programs for five years. In May of 1997, he and Jan became the owners of Sunrise Learning Center. Rickie has been the President of the Texas Licensed Child Care Association, and he will be the President again during the 2008 – 2009 year. He has served on this board for the past 7 years. He also serves as a trustee on the Melissa ISD school board
Jan Lafon
Owner
Jan received an associate’s degree of Liberal Arts from Grayson County Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a certification in Kindergarten, from the University of North Texas. She taught in McKinney ISD for 14 years. Jan is a licensed minister and has served as Children’s Minister, Youth Minister, Worship Leader, and Pianist.
